July 3rd, 2017 Busy

Hey there!

I hope you're all having a great summer. Elder Sperry and I are doing
real well. We had a busy week! On Tuesday we went on exchanges after
district meeting. That was fun, I went with elder Pearson who was the
old iPad guy for our mission, he's a really good dude so we had a lot
of fun.

We had MLC this week, it was good to see some missionaries I hadn't
seen in a while. It was a great meeting for our mission and for me. I
learned a lot about being a purpose driven missionary  and I've been
able to apply some of the things we learned and it's been great. We
had dinner over at President McCuistion's house, we had some good food
from Sister McCuistion and had a real good devotional after. The
spirit was really strong and I'm excited for where our mission is
going. President McCuistion said there is going to be a big
announcement coming in August, he didn't tell us what it is but he
said it's going to be big! So I'm real excited for that!

We also had interviews and that's always a good thing. We met some
cool people this week. On Saturday we had just began our day and we
were driving around and we saw this lady mowing her lawn so we parked
the car and went and talked to her and she was really cool! She had
just lost her husband and she hadn't been to church since, she felt
like we were a sign from God that she was supposed to come back (and
this time to the true church).

Well I miss you guys but I'm having a good old time here in the great
heartland of America! Have a great week and a great 4th!

June 26th, 2017 Be happy!

Hey everyone!

This week was real good! We found some awesome new people to teach.
Thomas came to church yesterday as well as Chris and Alex. Thomas
should be getting baptized on July 8th, we gave him some fruit punch
to replace is tea and he is enjoying it quite well. Chris will get
baptized as soon as he can stop smoking so we fasted with him and it
has really helped him, pray for him please!

We talked to a ton of people this week! A lot of people were real mean
as always, but we found some awesome people. We were talking and
testifying 24/7 this week it was a good week!

We have been thinking a lot about how a lot of people just aren't
happy in life and the majority of people we talk to just seem to not
be living life to the fullest. I really like the "Your potential, Your
Privileges" video by President Uchtdorf, he talks about how living the
gospel brings the most blessings in life and just overall helps us to
have a higher quality of life. I've seen that a lot! If we live the
gospel we are blessed! It's that simple! I love this work and am
blessed to be a part of it especially in Kansas. I love and miss you
all, I love hearing from each one of you. Hope you all have a great

June 19, 2017 Wichita Kansas

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well! This week was pretty good!
It was hard to say goodbye to all the people in Lawrence but I think
Wichita is going to be a good time. My new companions name is Elder
Sperry, he works really hard and is a really good missionary, I'm
excited to work with him.

We have met some great people this week, we met a part member family
with 2 kids who are baptismal age who haven't been baptized, so we are
working with them, we also found a couple of guys who said they have
met with missionaries before and loved it, they had just lost contact,
but now we found them, we also have a few people that came to church
they just have some word of wisdom issues holding them back from being
baptized. It's going to be a good transfer hopefully full of baptisms.

I got to see Elder Crane at transfers on Wednesday, it's always good
to see that guy, it's too bad I got transferred because he just got
transferred to Lawrence! We will hopefully get to serve with each
other soon. I also got to see my trainer Elder Madson! He is actually
going home at the end of July... it will be weird to see him go.

I miss you all! Hope you are enjoying the summer!

June 12, 2017 Leaving Lawrence :((

Well everyone I hope you're doing well! I found out yesterday that I
will be leaving Lawrence to be a Zone Leader in Derby... I was really
not expecting to leave Lawrence so soon. I am so sad to be leaving, I
have come to absolutely love the members and people here. Hopefully I
will get to serve here again later on.

This week was pretty good, we had dinner with Austin and Abby (the
member and his girlfriend), it was really good. We taught her a really
good lesson and Austin has been reading he Book of Mormon with her
every day. They are awesome and it will be sad to not be able to see
her get baptized but its all good!

The Schofields had us over for dinner on Wednesday and made my
favorite meal, chicken roll ups! Woohoo! They were awesome and brought
back some good memories of grandmas house (:

I love you all, I hope that you are all doing great. I love my
mission, it is helping me grow and become the man that God needs me to

June 5th, 2017 10 months!

Hey everyone! This week was awesome! Yesterday at church a guy and his
girlfriend came up to us and it turns out the girlfriend isn't a
member and they want us to come over for dinner this week and teach
her! That was really cool.

It's crazy I've been out 10 months now, it is flying by. I've learned
so much up to this point and still have a lot more to learn. Thanks
for all your support and love. Hope you're all enjoying the summer!

Great Week May 29, 2017

Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing amazing, my week was awesome!
Clare was able to get baptized on Saturday! It has been awesome to
watch her grow and to make the decision to be baptized.

This week we were forced to move out of our apartment so we had to
move to another apartment, it's pretty nice so it's not too bad.

A kid in our ward is leaving on his mission to the Irvine California
mission this week so he had a big luau that we went to and it was a
blast. We found a few of his friends that are interested as well!

This week was great, hope you all have a great week! Love you all!

Lawrence, KS May 22, 2017

Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing well, I am doing fantastic! This
week was really good. We had Clare's baptism interview on Saturday and
she passed so she is going to be baptized this Sunday at 2:00! It has
been so awesome teaching her, she has been meeting with missionaries
and coming to church since 2012 and has finally made the decision to
be baptized! We are so excited for her.

She has overcome a lot of opposition and I'm sure will continue to see
opposition, for example yesterday before church we attended her other
church (which she is not going to be going back to) with her and while
we were there everyone was just staring at elder candland and I, they
made us take off our tags or they told us we had to leave. So we took
them off because we didn't want to leave Clare there alone and enjoyed
the service politely, we left a little bit early to get to our church
on time. When we left there was one of their church leaders waiting
for us and handed us a piece of paper with his number on it and told
us if we wanted to talk to someone who actually knew the Bible give
him a call...lol and he told us and Clare he felt bad for us because
we were on the wrong path, he also told Clare that their pastor will
be giving her a call this week because he "cares" about her.... oh
boy.... so yeah that was an experience...


She also gave up her coffee and tea and turned a few people down when
she was offered some this week. She's doing great!

We also had interviews with president this week which is always a
great experience.

So yeah... life is good! Lawrence is great and I'm loving life. Hope

May 15th Deja Vu

Hey everyone! This week was great! I got to talk to the fam yesterday and that was amazing! I am loving it out here still, Lawrence is great and we have Claires baptism coming up on the 27th. Sorry it's short this week, love you all!

May 8, 2017 Deja Vu

Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing well well, this week was so good!
We were walking all week so we talked to a TON of people. We had a lot
of great success this week. We are working with his lady named Claire,
the missionaries have been working with her since 2012 and we invited
her to be baptized this week and she accepted! She is on date for the
27th so we are excited for her! Also another cool thing that happened
this week was we were walking down the street and this lady pulled up
next to us and asked us if we were church people, we said yes and then
she started tearing up and told us she wanted to talk to us, so we met
her down the street and talked to her for a long time about her life
and where she is at right now. She is having a lot of problems and
believes God placed us in her path to help her at this moment. It was
awesome, we are so excited to work with her and help her see how Jesus
Christ can make all of our burdens light. Well I hope you're all doing
great! I'm loving it out here! Have a great week!

May 1, 2017 Goodbye Labrum

Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing well! This week is transfers, I'm
staying in Lawrence for another 6 weeks with Elder Candland. Not much
is changing except Elder Labrum is going home this week :( I'll miss
that guy!

Clay and Dani were baptized on Saturday! I wasn't able to go to it
sadly but it's all good! I am so excited for them and their decision
to follow Jesus Christ.

It was a great week, we had stake conference and the bishop of our
ward got called to be the stake president. We also had Zone conference
and it was really good.

Elder Candland was sick for 2 days so we were in the apartment, it was
crumby... but hey it's gonna be a great transfer! Hope you're all
doing well, have a great week!

April 24th, 2017 Lawrence, KS,

Hello everyone! Hope you're all doing well, my week was really great!
We had a very successful week with finding and we were able to have
Erica and her family come to church! We met Kenneth this week, he is
Erica's fiancé, he is awesome. We played lots of basketball with him
this week and then taught him a lesson after. I sprained my ankle
playing in one of the games, I couldn't really walk for a couple days
but It's doing good now!

The members here are so great! There are so many great families here.
The Kema's are really awesome, they have a son who is going on a
mission in June and he's a great kid. Also the Schofields are awesome,
Brother Schofield is our ward mission leader and they are a couple
from Utah that both went to BYU, sister schofield played volleyball
for BYU. They had us over for dinner on Sunday night and it was a lot
of fun!

I got to give a talk yesterday in church and I spoke on living the
gospel in our lives. I went over Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving
the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. I talked about
how we can use these things in our lives daily and weekly. I'm so
grateful for the restored gospel! I'm grateful we know what things to
do in this life to help us have peace in this life and salvation in
the life to come. The Book of Mormon outlines the doctrine of Christ
so purely and I'm so thankful god loves us enough to give us more of
his word to guide us in our lives.

Easter and....Chris Harris!

Hell everyone! This week was amazing! So first off... I have to tell
you that my dreams came true on Saturday. We went to the KU football
spring game, 2 of the members in our ward are actually on the coaching
staff so we took an investigator and went! So anyways, Chris Harris,
the Broncos Pro Bowl corner and my favorite player in the NFL, was at
the game because he played at Kansas and they were honoring past
players. Long story short... I got to meet him and get a picture with
him! It was sweet!

So anyways... this week was really good! We met this awesome family,
Erika is the mom and she has 3 kids. We taught them all and they are
now preparing for baptism! They were going to come to church but then
something came up at the last minute 😔 but they said they will be
there next week! So we are very excited about them!

So Clay and Dani, a couple I taught in JC with Elder Labrum got
married on Friday so they can both get baptized! So exciting for them!
They are so awesome and I'm so happy for them.

Yesterday was really great, we had a really good program at church, 3
little girls sang the song gethsemane, it was so good and the spirit
was so strong. I hope you all had a great Easter. It's always a great
time to celebrate Jesus Christ and his atonement and resurrection. I
have come to understand the atonement of Jesus Christ on my mission
and it has really helped me so much out here. I love you all and am
thankful for this opportunity to serve in Kansas! Have a great week!

Woohoo! April 10, 2017

Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing well! It's a wonderful April
morning and I'm loving it here in beautiful Lawrence! His week was
fantastic! We had some ups and some downs but it was overall a great
week.

Robin is doing good, she's going through some really hard times, her
uncle died and she has picked up smoking because she's been so
stressed out over the past couple weeks. But she's still very
interested and will get baptized eventually. John is a fool, he hates
us now, idk what happened but he cussed us out and told us to never
come back... but that's okay the lord provided a miracle!

We were walking down the street and we were just waving to everyone
and so one guy pulled up next to us and told us he had studied with
the Mormon church before but never got baptized. We had a lesson with
him and now he's preparing for baptism in may! It was awesome!
