October 3rd, 2016 General Conference yayyy

Hello again everyone! Well what can I say? It was another great week
here in Kansas. General Conference was awesome and I'm sure you all
enjoyed it as well. I really liked when Kazuhiko Yamashita of the
Seventy said in his talk: "Although missions have many difficulties,
serving Jesus is the best thing ever." That is so true in the mission
field, this week we have experienced a lot of rejection and a lot of
hard things have come up, but we are serving Christ, and we have also
seen so many miracles this week, it's been so awesome to be able to
grow from those hard things as well. I also enjoyed how much they
talked about member missionary work, because us missionaries can't do
this ourselves, members are so essential to the work. I love what
Elder Hales said, "As you share the gospel, your faith will grow, and
your confidence will increase." I have seen that out here as a
missionary, and I know that sharing the gospel can increase your
confidence as well as grow your faith. Sharing the gospel is the best,
and you get so many blessings and so much joy by doing it. So I would
again invite you to share the gospel with those around you, and pray
for those opportunities to share the gospel. As Neil L. Anderson said
in his talk: "Do not see your efforts to share the gospel as a pass
fail test, if you share the gospel your grade is always an A+" I would
love to hear about all of your experiences!

This week was really good and I grew a lot as a missionary, one day we
were meeting with one of our investigators and he was really
progressing well, but all of the sudden his wife came out and told us
to leave and never come back, and that they wanted nothing to do with
the church. I didn't think it would hurt so much to hear someone say
that, not because it hurt my feelings, but because I knew this guy was
so close to so many blessings and now he will have to wait for those
blessings. We will try our best to continue to talk to him, but that
was a hard thing this week. We have had a lot of people yell at us and
stuff but that's not new, we have seen more opposition this week than
ever. But it's all good, I love it out here, most of the people are
really nice.

On a good note, we have seen a ton of miracles this past week. An
investigator we were working with came and watched general conference
on Saturday and she brought one of her friends. After conference ended
her friend invited us over to answer some of her questions. We went
over there and answered many of her questions with the Book of Mormon.
After we answered all of her questions she said, "I don't know how you
do it, but sign me up!" She wants to get baptized this month so we are
really excited for that! It was an amazing miracle. We also have seen
many more tender mercies that the lord has blessed us with.

This week I have really come closer to the lord through trials as well
as miracles. I love this gospel so much. I love these people so much
and I love Kansas so much. Thank you all for your support. I love and
miss you all.

-Elder Christensen
